Saint-Paul-de-Vence
The project involves the full refurbishment of an existing 70’s Provençal-style house by Robert Dallas. Set on an elevated site in a serene garden setting with panoramic views of the snow-capped Alps, the old village of St Paul and the Mediterranean coastline. In addition, there is a new build guesthouse made from local stone and board-marked concrete, which draws inspiration from its neighbour, Foundation Maeght Art Gallery. The guesthouse is a contemporary new building that nestles comfortably into the landscape adjacent to an emerald green swimming pool.
Working with a local landscape designer the studio has reworked the grounds to create shaded pavilions, interconnected paths and incidental places to sit, while maximising views and colour from the Mediterranean planting.
