The full refurbishment of an existing Provençal-style house built in the 1970s by Robert Dallas has been undertaken by Studio Mackereth. Set on an elevated site in a serene garden setting with panoramic views of the snow-capped Alps, the old village of St Paul and the Mediterranean coastline, is a new guesthouse made from local stone and board-marked concrete, which draws inspiration from its neighbour Maeght Fondation art gallery. The guesthouse is a contemporary new building that nestles comfortably into the landscape adjacent to an emerald green swimming pool.

In collaboration with garden designer Chris Moss, the studio has reworked the grounds to create shaded pavilions, interconnected paths and incidental places to sit, while maximising vistas and Mediterranean planting.
